Depends on you. I like to garden to relax, pulling weeds and digging releases my tension. Do some nice things for yourself, go for a long drive (where you won't get road rage), write down your feelings and get them out. Occupy yourself until time heals your hurts. Hope you join us again soon, feel better.

It all depends on how long you want to step off.

For me all I normally need is a really hot bath (I keep on draining and refilling), a sigur ros CD (I really recommend them, it’s kind of symphonic and they’re from Iceland so I have no emotional attachment to the words they’re singing), and candles and wine.

If you feel like you need more time off, like months, go to Kripalu,. It's a health and yoga center in western mass. It's a beautifull place filled with people trying to live better lives. Go to kripalu.com, and on the upper options bar click on ‘be a part of kripalu’ and then click on the volunteer option. I havn’t done this program, but I have spent time at Kripalu, and I’m pretty sure that if I ever need to take a break from this world for a while, that that’s where I’ll go. As it’s a $35 application fee and $50 a month.

Good luck, and I hope you find a way to gracefully take some time off and then reenter as a whole person again.

Maybe a spiritual journey somewhere would be a good thing if you can afford it? It is difficult to say, because when I have this feeling, I just want to be alone and would like to stay at home and sleep for days.

If you can afford it, take some time off. Go somewhere with someone you enjoy. Surround yourself with upbeat, encouraging people. Grief takes time, be nice to yourself.
