You cannot get a tattoo until you have finished breastfeeding.
Did you have a vaginal birth or a csection? Csection you usually need 6 weeks to recover before doing major physical activity, but may need longer depending on how you are healing and how you are feeling.
Vaginal birth they say to allow 6 weeks to recover although you can still do light exercise (kiegel exercises and pelvic floor tilts) Be aware that there is a risk of hemorrage (sp?) up to 4 weeks after giving birth. Also, the more you exercise (if still bleeding) the heavier you will bleed, so try to keep rested with your feet up until 6 weeks :)

If you are still bleeding you should wait to lift anything heavier than your baby for at least 1 week after you stop bleeding. The reason is b/c you could hemmorrige<-- (not sure how to spell that?!) About the tattoo.. I would wait until you're done breastfeeding just to be safe.. you never know if you'd have an allergic reaction that could affect your milk..

why not get a tattoo? You're not carrying your girl anymore. Just make sure you get one at a reputable tattoo artist. As far as heavy lifting, I really wouldn't lift anything heavier than your daughter...it just depends on if you had natural or a c section? I'd wait until your checkup and ask your doc if its ok.

I would wait until you stop breastfeeding to get at tattoo just to be safe. You might want to ask your doctor about lifting.

As for lifting I would ask your OB about this. I know after my csection I waited until after my 6 week appointment.
