Haven't you noticed how people don't give the best or most well thought out answer 'best answer' but in cases of opinion they choose the one that most flatters their opinion?

Don't u think it would be better if everyone voted for it? Rather than the asker?

P.s. I'm not bitter. I take the rough with the smooth and so does my girlfriend. ha ha ha. yeh baby yeh!

Sometimes people do choose answers which expand upon what they are thinking of. But yes, most people are looking for affirmation of what they already think/feel.

I don't know what your other answers look like, but I really thought it was a good question - then you went totally off-topic with your semi-suggestive "p.s." (It makes the whole questions sound ... well, like you are bitter.)

Keep answering, you will be chosen sooner or later! Or even through the voting.

It depends on the question...I see where you're coming from when it's politics or religion, but if it's a genuine question seeking actual information, then it make sense for the asker to vote for the answer that was most helpful.

Like when I ask questions about gardening, fantasy football, or other stuff, I vote for the person who helped me most.

I choose the answer that fits my needs and works the best for me. If I can't decide on one then I either put it up for voting or I just randomly choose one. And plus it's the 3 points or whatever.

Your question - you have to choose the best answer. And it's up to you what you choose. Besides, you can live your question without Best Answer by Asker. In that case it will be voting. Simple!

Not to sound argumentative, I have not found that to be the case at all. Rather, if you explain your answer in a manner that is logical, I have seen that people are very open to differing points of view.

I like this area because of that.

Nah i always pick the one that sounds most logical, thought out and balanced. If people ask questions with a point of view that they need others to agree with then thats up to them.

People will obviously go for the answer that best suits them because this is human nature. They want someone to agree or be on the same wavelength as them. Part of the purpose of this site is to find kindrid spirits and people will always gravitate to them. thats life.

I think your right, can I have my points now.. only kidding, Ive noticed that when I really give someone a roasting (usually a racist or some kind of religious nut) they give me best answer so they can have one last dig at me in their comments, that's fine by me. good question though, go on give me the points anyway.

yea and I think that I will start allowing people to vote for my best answers now rather than choosing them myself, thank you for making this point.

I know its irritating if you've put some thought into your answer, but just ignore it - and don't bother answering one of their questions again!
