Everything about my work inspires me. I'm an editor and a seminar leader.

I get paid to read and to talk--two of my favourite activities.

Really, though, I get paid to help people communicate clearly, so that their intended message gets across to their target audience. Since I feel most alive when I'm learning something, communicating with someone, or helping someone, it's pretty clear that this is a terrific niche for me.

Recently thought I might have to give it up and go into some other line of work, but apparently this is what the Universe wants me to be doing, since just as I was about to start applying to temp agencies (to go back to being a secretary, which is what I did until I started editing 20-odd years ago), I learned about a fabulous job opening in my field. Applied for it and just heard *today* that I've definitely got the position. I'll be starting Monday, October 16.

Yes, I'm a teacher, and I hope that some kids will remember a few things that I have mentioned over the years.
