I'm a fashion designer that has a design collection that is not being focused on simply because it's not at the point of bringing in an income and I need money to pay my bills- in another words survive. My collection is extremely well responded to and is wanting to explode, but because I'm too busy freelancing to bring in the income, the collection is not doing what it should. I've started a business plan and know aprox. how much it would cost to get this thing going. My main issue is that I need an income of some kind. Even if it's a small one. Help! I've been working as a Designer for 6 years and I'm feeling a little resigned, yet I can't imagine doing anything else for a living.

Take your business plan to a local office of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives). These are retired guys from the business world who volunteer their time to help small businesses get off the ground. They can show you how to spruce up your business plan and take it to a bank to apply for a loan. And, many a business has started up with the financial help of family, friends, a second mortgage or raiding the 401-K.
