try driving a nascar at speed 160-200 miles/hr for 500miles with a bunch a drivers doing the same? driving a race car takes a lot of brain power and muscles and skill. They have to train and workout like every other athlete. they also compete. if that not a sport i don't know what is?

I think NASCAR is a sport because of the fact that those drivers have to endure long races in a stock car that gets hot as h*ll inside the car and oh yeah, they're literally fighting like mad to keep the car on the track and are going for the win at the same time when 42 other drivers want the same thing and will do anything they can to keep you from winning...

Nascar is the WWE of motorsports. More hype and sizzle than actual substance. Still enjoy the moments from green flag to checkered.

in my opinion...i would not consider Nascar a sport. I'll call it a competition of sorts..but certainly not a sport.
i respect their training, yet i do not place the same type of athleticism in Nascar, that I do with track and field, marathon runners, basketball, football, soccer and so on.
