Is it truly possible to live without guilt and be happy when you have two family members that are suffering from medical issues that they will never recover from and their care becomes a burden to the rest of their family.

You certainly must care about your loved ones or you would not be asking this question. Guilt is not necessary. After all, you didn't make them sick. Do your best to help out. Happiness especially around them is essential. They don't need gloom and misery .

Yes, it is possible. Not everyone reacts the same way. Some people try to cover up their feelings as a protective defense mechanism. But we all have different chemistry that controls our emotions. It takes a lot to make some people unhappy while others feel unhappy at the drop of a hat.

Now, there are people who are just selfish, unempathetic, sociopathic assholes. These people might have the same chemistry as you or me but they're just driven by their mental illness to not see anything or anyone past their own noses. They couldn't care less if someone is sick or dying.

I don't know which kind of person is the subject of your question but if you know the person well you could probably guess. If they're usually a decent person then they are probably covering up or their chemistry is such that it takes a lot more to upset them. These kinds of people can sometimes be a blessing during hard times. Don't be so quick to knock them. On the other hand, if they're usually an asshole anyway then they're probably a sociopath.

Your question is very sensible and all the justifications (they gained't bear in recommendations) are new lies to conceal up the preliminary lie! yet Hellfire isn't a Bible coaching... i'm considered one of Jehovah;s Witnesses and that i've got asked myself a similar question... in spite of the fact that it is worse than that... Like... How can they love and worship somebody NOW, (whilst they DO understand and bear in recommendations me), whom they suspect even holds the assumption of torturing me (or every person else for that remember) if i don't placed up to their theology!? Hellfire and torture is slander against God, in my opinion and is not in unity with many things the Bible teaches... It only ain't so... in this type, in any different case sensible all human beings is liable to throw out the toddler (the Bible) with the bathwater (the fake stuff the Churchs coach) = )

Yes it is possible that someone can be happy even if another member of that family is going through it because that makes us feel that way... when we know someone else is going through something bad it makes us feel good and relaxed that our own life is going fine... .it doesnt mean that you don't care i mean you do feel but we all have that little place in our heart that spells out
SELFISH

It is possible to be guilt free, but you can't be happy while supressing that guilt. You can be free of that guilt but the things you would have to do to cover it up would not be worth it at all. It's always best to follow what your concience says.

Are the medical issues the result of something you did? Do these family members require that you feel guilty and unhappy?
