My wife is pregnant with our 1st child, we are hoping she comes soon. She read somewhere that if you have sex during your 3rd Trimester, you can possibly induce labor. But I was wondering. If you have sex while your pregnant, is it possible that I could get her pregnant again before she even has the 1st baby?

Not unless she has two uteruses. I know a woman who has two and had a baby in each one.

This is why more people should be sterilized.
But to answer your questions. Yes, sex can help induce labor. And NO a woman Can Not get pregnant while she is already pregnant. First because the cervix is most likely still plugged or mostly plugged, secondly women don't ovulate (produce eggs) while pregnant, thirdly the uterus is otherwise occupied by another living being. There would be no where for a fertilized egg to attach itself.
But she can get pregnant very soon after delivery, and the talk about women NOT being able to get pregnant while breastfeeding is false. Though a woman is less likely to ovulate while breastfeeding because of hormonal changes, it still happens all the time.

Your wife cannot get pregnant again until after the baby is born but I have heard about sex inducing labor towards the end of the pregnancy.

No. While pregnant there are no eggs are being released into her uterus. No egg - no fertalization - no pregnancy. Just be careful after the baby is born if you don't want another one right away.

Also there is a cervical plug, so to speak, it is made of thick mucus. It holds all the amniotic and prenatal fluids in. When her water breaks it means that mucus plug has given way.

Happy Parenting! :)

NO, I dont believe so. her egg was fertilized hence your 1st child. Your wife is not ovulating right now. Now be careful because I have heard of women getting pregnant immediately after giving birth!

The cervix is closed. no sperm can get through. No she can't get pregnant now - she is not ovulating! Sex close to your due date can induce labour. It worked all four times for me. Raspberry leaf tea works pretty good too.

I've heard sperm can live inside the woman for up to 7 days.
Given that....I would say it is virtually impossible for you to impregnate your wife a while she is still pregnant.

the answer would be no. she can only get pregnant again after she delivers the baby not while she is pregnant.
