I think that the only reason people should have sex is to create children not for pleasure.

Former House Majority Leader Tom Delay said it best "Working mothers on birth control caused school shootings."

What Tom Delay meant is that women who work away from home and take the pill appreciate their children less and don't raise them better. The kids become mental cases and do school shootings.

What a terrible statement for Mr. Delay to make. Awful! While much of what ills America can be traced to the breakdown of the family- which to me includes things like divorce, contraception, mothers (either by necessity or choice) working outside the home- and other forms of moral decay in our society. It is unfair to just point at that one factor to say it is the reason.
I think contraception prevents true intimacy between a husband and his wife. But to "outlaw" it would be a MAJOR uphill (impossible) battle. Those who participate in premarital and extra-martial sex are unlikely to ever submit to such a ban because it aids them in their immoral acts. Also, married couples have been fooled into believing they need these devices- that hurt rather than help them- and wouldn't submit either.

If Tom Delay said that, he's twisted.

Contraception is the best way to prevent abortions. We can sit around all day and talk about your lofty ideals, but the truth is that sexuality is human and normal.

People should use birth control if they do not want children.

YES because we need more big dumb idiots to help shape the future!!!

working mothers on birth control did not cause the school shootings. how could they? werent they at work using contraceptives so they wouldnt have to be spread too thin between 5 children?

WHATS WRONG WITH BEING A WORKING MOTHER!?

people complain when others dont work... now you wanna complain when they DO!

Thank god for contraceptives people should use them more often!

Heck no! If anything, birth control ought to be the law and enforced, before the simple human race screw themselves out of breathing room. Sex is NOT for making babies only, not by a long shot, and you can't legistrate morality, so-called. A hand full of people simply do NOT have the right to try to force their ideas and beliefs on all of humanity, or their interpretation of some "holey" book.

Birth control is a very good thing. Some people should never be allowed to procreate!
What's worse...an unfit mother torturing a little baby...abusing a child...or taking a pill?

Why not? The only ones using it are the smart people who will make sure they wont get pregnant anyway..

Meanwhile; even with contraceptives available; The morons continue to procreate like rabbits.

Poor Tom was wrong on just about everything, wasn't he? He should have stayed in his exterminating job. He raked in the bucks while he was in Congress and now he's in big trouble. Pay no attention to anything he said. It was all garbage.

Listen, the last thing this World needs is more unloved and unwanted children. They become animals and criminals. No thank you. Rubbers for anybody over 18 who asks.

Delay's quote doesn't make sense and neither does your question. It's a miracle that people like you are capable of expressing a thought

Far from it. For some people it should be mandatory.

(Taking our moral direction from Tom Delay, now, are we?)
