I have a 7-year-old who still doesn't know. I'm surprised he's gone this long, but he's bound to hear something about it in school this year, I'm sure.

I burst my son's bubble when he was 9. He cried so hard,it almost broke my heart. He got a little greedy, he thought because the gifts from Santa were 'free', that he could ask for everything & get them. And of course knowing who Santa was, that would not have been possible, so I tried to explain this. He got a little 'mouthy' so I let the cat out of the bag. The rest is history.

I have 4 kids aged 2yrs. apart. So by the time my oldest turned 5
he figured it out & it was curtains on " Santa".
He ruined it for the rest of them. So I only got to spread that B.S.
once.

They'll find out by 4th or 5th grade if you don't tell them. I found out from a friend in 4th. I'd go for telling them the summer after 3rd grade or something.
