Ok i was wondering, for the last 5 months before i am supposed to get my period i get this gross looking brown discharge, is this normal or should i probably get this checked out. I've read other things about what it could be but most of it says that you are pregnant if you have that, but i CAN'T be pregnant because I've NEVER had sex. So could someone please help me know if there is a problem, so I can know if i should tell my mom or not because I don't really feel comfortable talking to her about it, and if something was wrong I would have to tell her because I'm 14 and I wouldn't be able to drive to see a Dr. so yea please help.

honey you are completely normal. Your uterus is not fully matured and so does not produce the kind of bleeding a fully grown woman does. Your discharge is brown because the blood and tissue is old and has been sitting in there for a number of days before each period. Relax, no problem.

Tell your mother you might have an infection and if you do have one and dont get it taken care of alot of things could go wrong like in the future you might not be able to have kids talk to your mom and dont be scared to remember she was your age once and went through the samethings as you she will understand if you dont want anyone else to hear ask her to go into another room with you trust me she wants to know if your ok she loves you shes your mom talk to her

It's just old blood, very common occurrence, probably hasn't happened before because now you are probably going through a hormonal change, which will happen every seven years or so. Peace!

I have had that once or twice. I think it is just old blood coming out of your system, but it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out, just to be sure everything is ok.
