Several corrections here. Iomega is the name of the company (not Omega). The disks are hard, not flexible. The drive/disks I have hold 750 MB. It's kinda like a second hard drive for storage/backup. I suppose newer technology has made this old news. but I have one, I've had it for years, it's handy, it's familiar, and since its disks hold tons of important data for me, why should I replace it? It's a system that works great for me.

Zip drives are a cross between a floppy and a hard drive. The disk is flexible like a floppy, but the read/write head doesn't actually touch the disk so it's like a hard drive in that respect. Since CD/DVD burners can store more and the disks are cheaper, zip drives aren't as popular as they once were.

A Zip Drive is a piece of hardware, Omega is one company who makes, and holds 100 and 200 mb on each disk. However, mine are old enough they use parallel ports and all 4 of my laptops are new enough they do not include Parallel ports. So I donated by Drives to the local computer users group. You might log in to Omega website and see if they have upgraded the product.

Zip drive is a medium-capacity removable disk storage system (wikipedia). It's like a floppy drive but the disk holds a lot more (about 100MB-750MB depending on the size of the drive you have). I think it was meant to replace the 3.5 floppy disks but it's not as popular anymore as flash drives, CD-R's & DVD-R's have taken over & become the popular choice.

It is a drive that has 750, 250 or 100 mb disks. They are like a floppy, but fatter.
