I had a very traumatic experience about 8 years ago, which i still struggle to come to terms with. Basically I was about three weeks late, just about to bite the bullet and do a pregancy test when i had horrendus cramps in my amdomen area and an urgent need to go to the loo.

I blead very badly after that for a day but at the time i didn't trust my doctor and couldn't talk to my family.

It's possible you may have miscarried. After this long of a time, it's hard to say. The doctors could tell you if you had been pregnant, but I'm not sure how much more they would say. Did you pass any large clots or tissue at the time? If you were in the very early beginnings of pregnancy, the fetus wouldn't be big enough to recognize as a baby yet.
I had a miscarriage about 35 years ago. I was in my fourth month. I saw the fetus. Like you, I felt a strong urge to go to the bathroom. I had been spotting and so I had been admitted to the hospital with a warning that the baby would probably be delivered dead. I went to the bathroom that day, passed what felt like a large clot, looked in the toilet and there was a blob of tissue. I called for the nurse and they took it away. I pretended that it was a boy, since that was what we were hoping for. I named it David Wayne. No funeral or anything, we couldn't afford that. But I th ink about David frequently.
If you are having a rough time dealing with this, seek professional help. They can help you sort out your feelings. Good luck.

Many miscarriages happen very early on in the pregnancy and are not even recognized as miscarriages. Like your experience, they can appear to be just a late, heavy period.

I'm sorry that you went through something like that, but there is just no way to know whether or not that was a miscarriage. You just have to make peace with the fact that, if it was, there was nothing you could do to prevent it.

Sounds like a miscarriage to me. My sister has had 2 with the same symptoms you describe. My only one was very late (16-17 wks pregnant) and I had no symptoms at the time it was discovered.

I am very sorry you had to go through this. : (

you need to put it behind you - i had a miscarriage at 8 weeks, experienced some of the symptoms you did but i bled for 3 weeks after.it's not pleasant and i was devastated at the time, but things happen for a reason, and you should try and remember that. i went on to have 2 healthy children, obviously i remember what happened but i have put it behind me. try and do the same and look forward - if it's meant to be , it will be!

The fact is you will never know. You need to stop obsessing over something you have no control of and get on with living. You only harm yourself and undermine your potential for happiness by dwelling on something like this.
