Yes, we have an Amby. My son likes it, because it's cozy and he can rock himself to sleep. He also likes it because he dosen't startle as much in it versus a flat, open crib. I admit it was a little expensive, even for a used one, but we don't regret having bought it.
As for the concern about it not supporting the baby's back, I think otherwise. This thing provides gentle support, and they lay relatively flat in it. It dosen't have any hard surfaces that would hurt the baby or cause flat head. (Icky) Babies come from an environment where they're all curled up, not flat on their backs. In addition, because the baby is on his or her back, they can't roll over or get caught in a situation where they would be in danger of suffocation.
Comfort-wise, try this: Throw a blanket on the floor. Sleep on your back for a night. Not really comfortable, right? I guess what I'm trying to say is that you should put yourself in your baby's booties for a moment, and think about their comfort. If you've ever slept in a hammock, you know what I'm talking about. I'm not saying you have to get an Amby, I'm saying I have one and my baby likes it. (My niece even took a nap in it. )
I plan to use the Amby for as long as my son will sleep in it. We have a pack 'n play for when he absolutely refuses the Amby and starts climbing out (or trying to, anyway.) I see no reason to go out and buy a crib for him when we'll just have to replace it when he's outgrown it. The Amby is a great little invention. For our family, it has been a better option than a traditional crib.

It looks weird for one and where is the back support in that??? and the kid does not need to be swinging all night to go to sleep. It's probably only good til they are 3-6 months anyways and then they move to a crib if they even will...what's the sense ? Buy a crib and use that!!! To me, you wasted $...when you could have put that away for your daughter's college fund or braces, even!!!

I would never use that. It doesn't support the child's back and doesn't look safe either. That could lead to serious back and posture problems later on if the baby slept in that thing!
