I have had very irregular cycles due to pcos, gynae gave me metformin and within 3 weeks had a period, that was on 3rd September, we are trying to conceive so had lots of sex in september. Was due to come on 1st October, no period, have done 2 pregnancy tests both negative (last one saturday just gone). Last week about the time I was due to come on had cramping but no bleed. Had a tiny spot of blood today very pale and nothing since and no cramping.
I will be making an appointment to see Dr but just wondered if anyone had had similar experiences.
I am 24 and taking 1500mg metformin daily.

Why do you always get some dick head stating the obvious, I said I will be seeing the Dr and was just interested in anyone who had had the same experience!
Are people so thick they cannot read?

It's hard to say, maybe you ovulated late or didn't ovulate at all. If the pregnancy tests are showing positive and you are this late, I'd say it's unlikely that you're pregnant. Are you have any symptoms (fatigure, nausea, breast tenderness?)?

For next month (if it turns our you're not pregnant) you might try to figure out your ovulation date. To help you know when you are most fertile and most likely to conceive. One easy way to find out if you are ovulating is to monitor your basal body temperature with a special thermometer. Your body temperature rises about 1/2 degree when you ovulate, thus you can pinpoint the time that you ovulate by monitoring your temperature throughout your cycle. It's easy to do, just pick up a basal temp thermometer from your local drug store. Each morning, BEFORE you get out of bed take your temperature and record it, along with the date and day of your cycle (The first day of you period is day 1, women have a 28 day cycle on average). The website below has a free chart you can download to use to record and track your temperature. There are also ovulation detection kits, which can be pricey, but might be helpful in pinpointing your ovulation and thus finding out when you are most likely to conceive.

Good luck!

Hello~

Just go to the Dr.......ha ha just kidding. I know with PCOS it can be difficult to monitor your ovulation so I'm assuming you don't use any OPKs, so there could be possibility that you ovulated late and it's too early to tell you're pregnant. I say this because I am going through fertility problems. Everyone always say you ovulate about the 2 weeks after the first day of your period, but I don't. I actually ovulate later than most people so that could be a possiblity for you. So that slight spot of blood could be implantation bleeding. I hope this is your big break and you get that BFP when you see the Dr.

Good luck!

It is a possibility you could be pregnant or wanting to be pregnant so much your stressing over it which is causeing the delay on your period, be careful on taking the medication though if you are pregnant, if you are be sure to ask your doctor about it when you do go and he confirms you are pregnant. Good Luck

I also have pcos and unfortunately with irregular periods it does make things difficult, from your symptoms i would say its unlikely.
Even if your not pregnant carry on trying, after all i managed to have 3 children naturally so keep your chin up.
