Disco didn't die. Look at the clubs of today and tell me they don't look exactly the same as discos. Laser light, mirror balls, lights in the dance floor. It's all the same. The only thing that evolved from disco is the music. But music changes everyday. the music we think is cool now, 50 years from now will be replaced by somthing else but the dance floor will still look the same.

Disco, in and of itself, is pretty much dead. Nonetheless, it has influenced many modern genres of dance music.
