Is a rose perfect?

2006-10-11 10:37:33 · answer #1 · answered by dudeinchi 1 · 0 0

Yes.

Our assessments of imperfection are based around our selfish desires and we believe, foolishly, that our continued existence is more important than anything else. The fact that we even consider the question rather than accepting that it is what it is shows our immaturity as a species.

It is perfect and you would see that if you were a spirit floating around in space watching the events over millions of years. But instead we see it from the perspective of people who have to get up and go to work, have arguments with our partners and witness the cruelty of ourselves against each other.

The Universe is perfect but life (as a process) isn't perfect.

Perfection is only a word
The Universe is infinite
Time is eternal

Firstly we have to establish what you mean by "The Universe" if you mean the universe that we all perceive then it is totally variable and individual to each perceiver. In consequence of this some might regard their universe as perfect, whilst many would regard theirs as being far from ideal. Perfection in its-self is an almost impossible state and and in my humble opinion does not and cannot exist in my universe. This of course not not preclude it existing for others in theirs.

If you take the universe to mean everything that exists then it either must be perfect or there must be something perfect in it or otherwise the words perfect or imperfect would have no meaning.

Perfection is an idea, the universe is not.
The word perfect means to finish, to bring to an end.
I don't want to offer you an essay on what science has to say on the what we name the universe.

Of what real benefit would it be to know?
Will it solve human misery? Suffering?
The exclusiveness of the egoic mindset which is destroying the world? I think not!
If we take the word perfect and its true meaning, which is to bring to an end.
I wonder what must come to an end?

If any of us could agree on what 'Perfection' means!
Put any word you like instead and even two people would have a different view. Do you know anyone who agrees with you 100%?
Making 'perfection' an undefinable word, so to me the answer must be NO

Until we have a greater understanding of the Universe, it would be difficult to predict, whether if at all it is perfect on going creation.

We seek 'Perfection'?
If there was one real perfection, then the word' perfect' wouldn't be existing.
If the Universe is perfect in your view what you think it would be like?......'perfect' is not 'perfect....that's the answer :-)
