If you've got it from a p2p site, then forget it....you need the legal copy to get it to work.

There's a program some smart person made out there called Sim File Maid 2. You can locate it at http://mattwork.potsdam.edu/projects/SimFileMaid/index2.html all you need to do is drag your downloaded stuff onto the window & the program would do the rest. I use the Sims 1 version & it is very easy to use. Plus it's Free!!!

Learning to download stuff means you have to learn something about the file system on your computer. It can be very crazy making if you're not used to do that yet. The best way to learn is for someone to show you with visual assistance if you don't know all the names of the areas that you have to check! Install them! if you downloaded them from the official site and they were made by individuals, I suggest not to install them. because they might stop or ruin your game, so you'll have to reinstall the game allover again. This warning is from the company itself.

once donloaded direct it to C:\Program Files\Maxis\The Sims and put it in from there.
