These are my opinions and beliefs.. First of all, if you see a figure, is it the whole body or just waist up? A ghost is normally seen full body and seems to stay in a specific area. Ghosts are those who have passed on but for some reason cannot leave. In other words, there are unresolved things for that "person".

Yes, and you have to listen very carefully in order for this trick to work. Stand up. Go to the kitchen. Grab some peanut butter and slather it on your face. The more the better, ghosts hate peanut butter. Then go to the room it is haunting and scream... PEANUT BUTTER FOR ME! PEANUT BUTTER FOR ME! YOU NEED TO LEAVE SO THERE IS ENOUGH PEANUT BUTTER FOR ME!
I swear that should work. To really make sure, repeat that chant five times and then sit in the corner nearest to the door with your face against the wall for five minutes.

Listen to them, Dustin, just listen. The ghost is there for a reason. Don't be afraid to ask what that reason is. It will help them to return to their own plane of existence. Remember, they won't speak in a voice you can hear, but if you clear your head and meditate, you will understand.

Maybe it's really your conscience bothering you instead? Forgive yourself and have some closure. Otherwise if you bore them they will eventually leave. Can you be more boring?

Same way you get rid of a live person that is a nag -- you just tell them, "Scram" --- if they're persistent, you say, "Knock that **** off!" -- if they still are hanging around, you tell them you're going to tell the jehovahs where he/she is, and that usually gets rid of them.
