He's eating just what he ought to be eating and in the right amounts and time limits.

Dont give him cereal until he's 4 months. He cant digest it and wont gain much nutritional value from it. He needs to make the most of every feeding at this point in his life in order to thrive.

NO!!! He is getting what he needs from formula. You should never give a baby solids until they are at least 4 months old, 6 months if possible. My son is 4 months old and his doctor suggested cereal only because he was 14lbs and wants to eat every hour. At 7lbs and 13 days that is way too early. Giving solids too soon can increase the chance of babies having allergies. And your babys tummy isn't ready for that yet. You need to wait until his digestive system is more developed.

wait till 4 - 6 months. His kidneys are not developed well enough to cope with anything other than milk just now, so feeding him rice or other solids could just cause problems. If he's really that hungry, then just increase his formula - that's far more logical and better for your baby just now. The amount you give him just now is about right for his age and weight. My son was 6pounds 15 when born and when he was just under 3 wks he was up to 9 pounds 6ounces!!!! (honestly!) When the bottles were not satisfying him I increased them till he was soon up to 9 ounce feeds every 3 hours (which the health visitor said was just about the max he should get) then kept him there till 4 months (he's now 5 months) and is now on solids. Just be patient.

maximum pediatricians could propose against rice cereal at that age. If she looks content and sleeps properly, i don't see why she desires the extra energy. I examine that babies started on rice cereal too early have a a ways better probability for weight problems later in existence. My son had to get rice cereal on an identical time as he became nonetheless in NICU by way of fact he had another issues, which includes his heart combating on an identical time as he became eating. he's positive now yet he's an extremely huge boy! i ask your self how lots the early creation of rice cereal performed a function.

No, your baby gets everything he needs from his formula. Babies usually don't get the cereal until 4 or 5 months old. It is definitly too soon if he's just 13 days. The first weeks of your baby's life is when he/she grows the most. Pls ask you doctor to explain.

Talk with your baby's pediatrician before you start mixing in rice cereal with their formula.

Ours had us start at our son's two month appointment when an 8 ounce bottle every two hours wasn't cutting it but he said he doesn't always recommend it as the earlier you introduce your baby to solid foods the more food allergies they can develop later.

NO!
He is MONTHS too young for cereal. He doesn't have the enzymes in his little tummy to digest it yet. ONLY breastmilk or formula at this age! Cereal should NEVER be fed in a bottle unless a doctor recommends it for a baby with reflux. Cereal (and any other solids) should not be started until closer to 6 mos of age, per the AAP. Starting solids too early will increase your child's chances of developing allergies, diabetes or being obese. 7 lbs 12 oz is not a big baby either...very average.

The American Association of Pediatrics says a baby should ONLY have breast milk or formula -- no cereal -- until at least SIX MONTHS.

The cereal will only make him constipated, anyway. At 13 days, his digestive system can't break it down.

Stick with what you're feeding him. Solids will come soon enough.

Do not feed your baby anything but formula or breast milk until he/she is 6 months old. Their digestive systems are not built to break it down. It will cause extreme constipation and make your baby miserable thereby making you miserable. Plus make sure you burp your baby after every feeding. If you don't the baby will confuse gas pains with hunger pains and eat more thus making his/her belly hurt like hell. Congratulations on your new baby.
