Personally I think LimeWire is the best for online information sharing but another good source that a few of my friends have is called Ares. You can check it out here

Despite all the warnings, all you have to do is scan the file with your virus program BEFORE you open it up. Don't download anything from Limewire with a file extension of .exe or .zip (these files could very well contain a virus, a trojan, or spyware. In general, files which are safe to download include mp3's and wma's. Also, avoid smaller files (under 1000 KB or so).

http://www.bittorrent.com
And go to http://www.download.com and get Ad-aware SE, Zerospyware LE, and Spybot S&D. Have them all do a complete scan and remove everything they find. Then go to http://www.trendmicro.com and do a free scan with their Anti Spyware scanner, and their "House Call" virus scanner. They will remove all the spyware, etc that Limewire has installed on your computer.

Go to www.computeractive.co.uk/2149584 to download BitTorrent and then go to www.Bittorrent.com to find what files are available for downloading.
The site offers software, films, games etc. that you can access for free.......legally.
For some reason when I preveiw this reply a couple of digits are missing from the link above... it should be 2149584 so you may have to copy it to your browser and then add the missing numbers before clicking on GO

Hi,
Here you can find a good place where to download Limewire: http://j.mp/VMercs
Limewire is good software i still use it to this day. I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. If you are looking for a good peer to peer software to download music, softwares/programs and videos you should get limewire too.
It's a safe and reliable pogram but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are donwloading from it. It does not matter what P2P program you use, you always have to be cautious about what you download.
Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.
Regards

Yes! Go buy the music cd! P2P file sites are infested to the hilt! You are downloading files from another users PC! Not a site!

There aren't any....you are at risk with any p2p site. You're letting a stranger send a file to you which may include a virus or trojan.
