We had a rabbit years ago and got rid of it for that reason and because it chewed EVERYTHING. I'm told they can be litter box trained.

There's just 2 pieces of information that everyone else managed to leave out. The first is that while rabbits can be trained to control their urine output, they cannot always be trained to control their fecal output (good thing the poop is so easy to clean up! The other piece of information that the other posters left out, is that this bunny is way to young to be litterbox trained. Most rabbits aren't ready for litterbox training until between the 4th and the 6th month, and some aren't ready until closer to 1 year. The best thing to do for now is just wait a little while longer. Put a litterbox in his cage so that he can start using it now, and when he's closer to 4 months old, get 2 more litterboxes to put in opposite corners of the room. Until then, there's not much else you can do.

Bunnies are very easily house broken. There is a special litter box (Super Pet makes them), it's angled and the corner is higher on one side than the other. Get litter like Carefresh or wood stove pellets, never use pine shavings for bunnies.

Put some of your bunny's droppings in the litter box and then let him check things out. He'll soon get the message and start using it regularly.

Hope this helps!

I have a bunny that is about 6 months old and he is litter box trained. The only time that he does his business outside his litter box is if I fail to clean his box- he gets mad, then! Anyway, I can let him run around my house since he will only go in his litter box. I also had him neutered because that helps them to keep to better litterbox habits, and makes them less aggressive, and more friendlier as they get older and mature.

Well, when we trained our feret, we put a litter box in two corners of the room. The other two corners had a barrier thing. Ferets (mabye Rabbits) naturally will go to the bathroom the corner. If he does go into the litter box give him a treat. It will eventually get into his head its the right thing to do.

You can litter train your rabbit, sort of like you do a cat. We have a white rabbit named cotton ball and he uses his litter box religiously...

It's the same principal as training a kitten to use the litter box. Catch him in the act and take him to the box. It'll work like a charm :)

bunny are the hardest to train...if it really irritates you that he does his buissiness everywhere just dont let him out anymore....get him a bigger cage or get a fence so he can run around outside....

He's marking his territory over your room. Perhaps you should consider a water bottle.
