It depends on what you are getting at...

Most people would consider pedophilia much worse than influence peddling for sure. (It should be noted that 'pedophilia' is a sexual attraction to young children, not a sexual interest in teenagers as Mark Foley is accused of having).

That being said, an influence peddling Congressman's actions will likely effect many many people and may effect them in terrible ways. Think of the Congressmen who's actions led to the Savings and Loan scandal of the 1980s...how many lives did they ruin? And what if a greedy/corrupt politician sold secrets to someone who then used them for terrorist ends?

Eh...in my book all politicans are bad...period.
