You have a bad starter. It is getting weak that's why when you had it jumped it started. When you jump start a vehicle that does not have a bad battery you ar increasing the cranking amps so a weak starter will work. It is not a good idea to disconnect the terminals on the car while it is running though because it is extremely easy to fry your engines computer. You got lucky that time but I would not do it again. COULD BE A STARTER...
COULD BE AND ALTENATOR IF NO POWER...BUT THEN UR BATTERY WOULD BE DEAD TOO SOMETIMES
COULD BE NO GAS
COULD BE NO GAS IS GETTIN TO THE ENGINE
COULD BE A BAD RELAY
COULD BE A BAD WIRE...
