Well step 1 find the slope 'm'
m = (-4+10)/(-7+1) = 6/-6 = -1

Step 2 find Y intercept 'b'
y = mx + b

Use one poing to find 'b'
-10 = -1(-1) + b
b = -11

Now plug in b and m
y = -x -11

When you have two points, slope is change in y/change in x.

So, (-4--10)/(-7--1) = (-4+10)/(-7+1) = 6/-6 = -1

So your slope is -1

subtract the y values and divide by the subtracted x values
(-4-(-10))/(-7-(-1))=-1 is the slope

The slope is -1.

The formula for slope (m) is the difference in y coordinates over the difference in x coordinates:

....... y2 - y1
m = ------------
....... x2 - x1

You have two points:
(x1, y1) = (-7, -4)
(x2, y2) = (-1, -10)

So just plug it into the formula

....... -10 - (-4)
m = ------------
....... -1 - (-7)

....... -10 + 4
m = ------------
....... -1 + 7

....... -6
m = ---
....... 6

m = -1

The slope is a downward slope, -1

[(-10) - (-4)] / [(-1) - (-7)] = (-6) / (6)= -1 = m = slope

m=slope=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m=((-10)-(-4))/((-1)-(-7))

m=-6/6=-1
