In my Jr. High we had a lot of old (most from 1905-1960) magazines which I would read. I have been attempting to find the following stories, but have no clue as to the authors or the titles. Any help would be appreciated.
1) "The Revenge of Mother." ? A woman with a large family & a daughter that is getting married finds out that her husband is building a new barn & not the house he promised her 20 years ago. So when he goes out of town she moves into the barn & renovates it into a decent living space for her family. Neighbors think she is insane & wait for her husband to "fix" the situation. She wins.

2) Two ladies are gardening & talking about the tripods that landed earlier in the week. There have been no attacks, & no alien sightings. One of the women, as she is spraying her garden, notices that the Tripods are just making some pink clouds.

3)A space marine is on a planet being chased by a violent alien. The whole story is mostly flashbacks, but the alien is human.

I don't know about numbers one and three, but two is a short story by Fredric Brown. I'm pretty sure the title of the story is Pattern. You can find it in some of the collections of his stories, such as The Best of Fredric Brown.

Brown was one of the pioneers of modern science fiction, writing mostly in the 40s and 50s. If you like sci-fi and you haven't read Brown, you are missing out.

Actually, number three sounds a lot like another Brown story, a novella called Arena. This story was the basis of the Classic Trek episode of the same name, the one where Kirk fights the Gorn.
