Don't worry. Read the fllowing very carefully.

Do u prefer a programming career?

If not, a career in UNIX system/Network administration is a good option. There are plenty of jobs and the demands will increase by leaps and bounds. First gather some hardware knowledge by fiddling with ur own machine. It should take about 3 weeks. Then join a good training for RHCE exam. It's a global certification with major emphasis on hands on training. Be very serious about the practical classes. RHCE training centers allow all day long practical practice on big networks. Utilize that scope as best as possible. Otherwise u shall never b able to through the exam. Try to score more than 90%. It is possible. All u need is hard work. It will take 6 months to complete RHCE.

Then apply at job sites like Monster, Jobstreet etc. U shall get interview calls. TCS, Wipro,Infy interviews r easy but the responsibilities r MONITORING and ESCALATION. Nothing more. IBM, HP interviews r tough, but u get challenging responsibilities and beautiful environment.

Be very careful about choosing the training center for RHCE. Check for the practice facilities before u join. U shall have to face a very tough practical exam.

If u prefer a software career, mail me. I shall provide u necessary guidence. With right guidence coding is not very tough. But it will require much more hard work.

May your wishes all come true.

Unfortunately, the computer field is ever evolving. What you learned is usually out of date by the time you start to work. Your basic skills stay with you and help you transition you to other jobs, or even the same jobs done differently.

Read IT publications, and follow trends. You must be reading magazines and journals in your field to keep up. They will tell you which jobs are in demand.

Take things slow. If you be the best person you can be then she might realize that you could be the one who she could trust in. I know the feeling, thinking that it will just end up like the rest, but in time if you treat her right she could see that you at least don't mean any harm. Depending on what she's like, you could do cute little things that make her smile. Bring her flowers (they don't have to be store bought), write her notes and put them in her coat pocket where she will find them, call her randomly in the middle of the day just to talk, let her know that you are thinking of her. I know I would love it if my boyfriend did that. Just be the best guy you can be, and don't be scared to ask her if you're doing something wrong.
