I would like to grow herbs this winter is that a good idea?

There are different varieties of basil that are good in the cold if you're growing them outside. L&G Centers in your area could tell you what others are tolerant to cold. If it gets really cold when the Canadian blasts come down even the basil may not make it.

Indoors you can grow in pots just about any herb. Again ask your L&G Tech.

Most say to bring your herbs indoor and repot them. You can grow your herbs year round.
