My mother in law wants my husband to leave me and go back to his ex girlfriend. She has given this woman our home phone number, email addresses, addresses, etc. We have had to change our email addresses and phone numbers to try to get the harrassment to stop. My mother in law and the ex are friends and have made it a game of trying to get between us. My husband and I are having marital problems because of all this because I can't deal with it anymore. We threatened to go to the police and the ex girlfriend stopped bothering us, but my mother in law continues to talk down to me and treat me like I'm nothing. Whenever I mention the problems to my husband he gets upset because he doesn't want to say anything to his mother. I understand it's hard and I don't want him to have to choose sides- so what do I do? I can't live like this anymore.

first of all, you said the ex-girlfriend has stopped. now its the mother-in-law's turn to stop this ridiculous behavior. and seeing as how it is your husband's mother, he needs to make it clear to her that it will stop or he will stop communicating with her. after all, you are his wife. is he not brave enough? i'm sorry , but he needs to get some "guts".

My mother in law is the same way. My husband and I have been married 7-years. She is still trying to get them back together. Mil talks to ex on a daily basis, invites my husband over but not me but then the ex is there. The ex is in it too she calls my husband at all hours of the night to talk and tell him she loves him, however I put my foot down 6-years ago the ex when she calls has to talk to me cuz she doesn't have his number. They have a kid together. This kid was the product of a one night stand no relationship ever. These two (the ex and the mil) are nuts!!!! The ex is a very nasty stripper/prostitute and apparently that is so much better then a police officer/veteran. The mil said to me people that join the military are worthless people who deserve to die.... Ooooh but being a stripper is a career of a well respected person of the community!?!? Wtf sick of both of them they are both morally backwards and wrong. Sorry my little rant on those pos's. Just to make everyone happy why couldn't they go live on an island and get Some kind of slow but definitely fatal disease

Oh wow. Thats horrible. Shame on his mother for doing that! I dont really have any advice, but I wish you the best of luck. Sounds like you have a Monster-in-law.

Tell him in no uncertain terms to stop being a whiney Momma's boy. His allegiance lies with you and if he is not going to put you first, get out. Pretty much tells you where you stand with him and how much he loves you. That is pathetic. My husband would never allow anyone to treat me like that.

he has to choose a side. your mother in law is immature. he should have to deal with her not you. he married you, you are not his girlfriend you're his wife that changes everything. when they say "let no man put asunder" they mean let no one come between you. including mother in laws, you're the Mrs. now he needs to confront her.
