I just finished reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Seabold and I do believe it is the best book I have ever read, and suggestions on other books that are just as good?

Try The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. I know people are always recommending it, but it deserves the attention. I think that in some ways the two are similar- they are very touching. If you like the emotional impact that the Lovely Bones has on you, I would say try that. Also, My Sister's Keeper by Jody Piccoult has some of the same emotional effects, although I liked her book Keeping Faith even better. Hope those help!

I agree with most of the books above.

The one I would agree the most with is King Fortis the Brave - I just loved that book.

The one I would disagree most with is The Time Traveler's Wife. I know a lot of people have enjoyed it, but I found it really slow and boring. I've tried three times now, but I just can't get past the first hundred or so pages.

King Fortis is a book that's hard to put down. Time Traveler's Wife is very easy to put down and never want to pick up again.

But that's just my opinion.

You might enjoy reading A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb. Or possibly Road of the Dead by Kevin Brooks.

'Torn Thread' by Anne Isaacs. published by scholastic, but one of the best books I've read. it's about a Jewish girl in the WWII Holocaust. once you get halfway through you literally can't put it down. True story but reads like a novel - you never guess it's real.

'This Present Darkness' and 'Peircing the Darkness' by Frank E Peretti. while reading this for the fourth time my dad still couldn't put it down.
