No the most annoying phrase is "I understand madam but there's really nothing we can do". Having spent 3 hours at the police station yesterday being told this over and over, i can tell you it makes your veins pop...

That always seem a little bit shallow to me, like their feeling sorry for themselves and don't want to accept responsibility, yes an annoying phrase I agree.

it's irritating, but not as bad as "innit" at the end of every sentence, "know what i mean?" but i think the one that really does me is when somebody is describing a conversation " so i turned around and said" "then he/she turned around & said" etc must be bloody dizzy by the end. anyway that's my rant, thaks for question, gave me chance to sound off about a pet hate!
