you could be disguising nitroglycerin in your water bottle or c-4 explosive in your eye shadow. apparently the Brits intervened in a plot to do this resulting in increased security. Al Queda is in bed with the French so they don't worry about it.

When you bring make-up or water from home it could have been tampered with. When you go beyond security and buy water or make-up it isn't tampered with, thus is ok.

London had a scare so this is the way it is. As others said you can check these items in your luggage. I mean you don't need make-up on a plane. Some items domestically you can bring small amounts of 3 oz or under.

You sound very put off by this, but unfortunately this is the world we live in and I have to say I would rather be safe than sorry and I'm sure several people agree with me on this one.

Is it an inconvenience well sure it is, but so what it could be a lot worse! Just sick people in the world who would even think up stuff like this and so times need to change with the new threats that are popping up.

Eventually on-board luggage will become very minimal the way things are headed. So I would suggest if you travel, then it is just one of those things you will have to get used to and adjust to.

Heathrow Airport was supposed to be the starting point for a trans-Atlantic terrorist attack involving liquid explosives as the bomb.

These liquid explosives were reported to be in a container that looked like the British equivalent of Gatorade and ignited by something disguised as an MP3 player from media reports on Fox News, MSNBC and CNN.

They do not let you take anything such as gel, water, or any other form of liquid as it is very easy to disguise things, for example you can take a water bottle and fill it with vodka and walk down the street and everyone would think you just had a bottle of water because of their likeness to each other.

The extra security measures are to make sure nothing happens again even if it is only in the planning stages or the very early stages of being carried out. We all know in this day in history what people with sick intentions can do to innocent lives and some parts of what we need to stop them.

Have you been asleep for the last month? Since the attempted attack out of London by terrorists that were going to try to mix liquid chemicals on a several planes bound for the US to blow them up, no liquids of 4 oz are allowed in carry on luggage. The same rule applies in the US.

Yes it has to do the almost attacks and I flew thru this airport a month ago and I realized that I just bought a very expensive perfume on my way out and I was not ready to give it up so I check it in another bag. It was really crazy because I all the junk they collected and they could sell all that and make a fortune.

Because terrorist tried to bring liquid explosives on the plane and things from home may have been tampered with. In USA airports you can now bring makeup, etc... as long as it fits is a quart bag and goes seperatly on the converyor.....

because there were intelligence reports that terrorists were going to assemble a bomb in air with material in their carry ons...and one of the crucial components of the bomb is a liquid...and hence, they were trying to stop people from carrying unidentified liquids on flights...

I feel kindda bad for the airport guys ...they have to be always right and terrorists have to be right only once !!!

check your make up in with your checked baggage, saves on the hassle of flying to Europe, here in the states you can carry on make up as long as you put it in a clear zip lock bag... Europe, especially London is a different story..... I would just check all my stuff in, and only carry one extra sets of clothes, underware, etc... just in case my luggage is lost
