The Chosen One:
His Origin, Life, Beginning, Downfall, and Redemption

I will also cover what I think it means to bring balance to the Force.

(Before I begin I would like to say that in this blog I am assuming Anakin Skywalker is the Chosen One. Also, everything I say in this blog are my personal opinion.)

Origin:
Anakin Skywalker was born with no father. His mother, Shmi, had no idea how he had been created. Now, three things could have happened. #1: The Force created Anakin for the sole purpose of bringing balance to the Force. #2: Darth Plagueis could have manipulated midichlorians to create Anakin to replace Sidious as his apprentice. #3: Darth Sidious, Plagueis' apprentice, could have also manipulated midichlorians to create Anakin to become his apprentice. The bottom line is that Anakin was somehow created by the Force.

Life:

Beginning:
Anakin Skywalker grew up on the planet of Tatooine in the Outer Rim Territories. He and his mother were slaves. He was an excellent podracer pilot. When Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi had to land on Tatooine to repair their ship, they discovered that Anakin had such an immense amount of midichlorians, that Qui-Gon felt he must be trained. It was Qui-Gon's wish as he lay dying in Naboo that the boy must be trained. Obi-Wan was reluctant, but obeyed his master. The council reluctantly agreed to train the boy even though they thought him to be too old. When Anakin grew older, Obi-Wan became his master. Their relationship was rocky at first but they grew to respect each other.

Downfall:
Anakin did what no Jedi was supposed to do. He fell in love, and married Padme Amidala. Meanwhile, Chancellor Palpatine, A.K.A. Darth Sidious, was manipulating all his feelings and emotions, pushing him down the path to the Dark Side of the Force. Padme becomes pregnant and gives birth to Luke and Leia Skywalker, and dies shortly afterward. Eventually, he saves Sidious from Mace Windu and becomes Darth Vader. Obi-Wan fights and defeats him, but he survives and has to wear a suit for the rest of his life. Now, completely immersed in the Dark Side of the Force, Vader hunts down and destroys the rest of the Jedi Order. However, Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi survive. Eventually, Obi-Wan and Vader fight again and Obi-Wan chooses to become one with the force.

Redemption:
Now, Luke Skywalker must travel to Dagobah to complete his training. He doesn't finish his training and decides to save his friends instead. He loses against Vader, his father, and loses his hand in the process. Yoda dies before he can finish his training. He learns from Obi-Wan that Leia is in fact his sister and Vader his father. He returns to face Vader for the last time. This time his goal is to redeem his father and bring him back to the light. When he somewhat defeats his father, Palpatine releases his force lightning on Luke. Vader could take no more. He lifted Palpatine and threw him down a long shaft. He had given his life to save his son. He was redeemed.

Purpose:
The Chosen One's purpose was to bring balance to the Force. I think Anakin Skywalker did just that. I believe that the Jedi Order had become corruped by the Sith. I think that the Force is naturally good. The Jedi had become corrupted so Anakin destroyed them and joined the Empire, which he later destroyed by killing Palpatine. By killing Palpatine, he paved the way for his son, Luke to create a new, better Jedi Order. Ultimately he helped purify the Jedi Order, but to do that, he had to eliminate the Old Jedi Order.

The Verdict:
I believe that Anakin Skywalker was created by the Force somehow, that he was indeed the Chosen One, and that he did, in fact, bring balance from the force. I believe that the Jedi and the Sith were both throwing off the balance of the Force and that they both had to be destroyed to make way for a New Jedi Order.

Actually, that's the full prophecy, that an individual would bring balance to the force. However, there are some fans that wonder if the chosen one refers to Luke or Anakin.

Anakin was a Jedi when the Jedi were in control. However, Anakin was a key instrument in bringing down the Jedi and allowing the Sith to rise to power. Also, while Anakin was helping Palpatine, he pretty much killed all the Jedi except for Yoda and Obi-Wan.

But Luke destroyed the reign of Palpatine and Vader. Luke brough control back to the Jedi.

So really, you have to wonder what does it mean to have balance to the force? Does it mean that there are no Sith? Does it mean that each side would take control for a while? Or does it mean that there will be the same number of Sith and same number of Jedi?
