How about a physics lab on kinetic energy...many alleys have the guides for handicapped bowlers....
simply take bowling balls of varous wieghts (very light compared to very heavy) and let them roll freely down the ramp..always staring from the same position. Record the number of pins knocked down (only count the full rack...don't try for spares) in 10 frames. The heavier ball should havethe greater kinetic energy thus knocking down more pins!!!
Kinetic energy = (1/2 mass) x velocity squared

You could also change the angle to change the velocity of the ball. Smaller angle should have less speed therefore less kinetic energy, (less pins knocked down)

Good luck with you project.

Make a Rube Goldberg type of machine that involves the elements of bowling. Those are always winners.

program a ball to roll all strikes ( i see lasers measuring the distances and a gyroscopic stabilizer - the tilt corrects the balls path )

then again you might choose a non-bowling project maybe something to do with SCIENCE
