I think we only had one and that caused an earthquake that was at first thought to be another test. The test was a bad thing for all concerned. It could bring the world together in opposition to terrorism and North Korea. If provoked, North Korea could easily destroy South Korea and our military forces stationed there.

It's a bad thing. I don't see how North Korea can be trusted given the way it treats its own citizens and defies the international community. Also, it may prompt other countries such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan to create their own weapons. The more tension, the more chance of something breaking. The goal of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty is ultimately the abolishment of nuclear weapons, this is a step in the wrong direction for the entire region and world. We can't afford to sit around and wait to see what happens. How stable is North Korea, can a totalitarian government really be stable anyhow? What happens to those weapons if the regime is overthrown? What if they fall into the hands of a non-state terrorist entity? Do we then claim we somehow didn't see it coming? Has North Korea ever demonstrated the same respect for the sanctity and dignity of human life as the other eight nuclear states have? Can you honestly say, yes, I really don't think so. Do you really think the United States is more inclined to use nuclear weapons offensively that North Korea? Honestly? Not all states are created equal.

Good since evry country has the right to protect itself. To keep peace ppl need to be equally strong. It stops ppl from running ove the weaker countries. Whenever there is a weak party and a strong one opposing it. The weak party can not last long.
