Last night I had a dream (or maybe not).. It felt like someone sat on the edge of my bed (at the time I thought it was my cat), then I felt arms across my back and they started squeezing (hugging) me. Thats when I realized it wasn't the cat. So I tried to turn over but could not move, so I tried to yell something for help but could not speak. Finally after what felt like a few seconds of trying to move and speak, I woke up, turned over, and there was nothing there. Was this a dream ? Or was this a spirit paying me a visit ? I did just lose a good friend about 6 months ago...

ok i love these! all the symptoms are there! it was a lucid dream verging on the out of body experience! robert monroe calls this focus 10 it is a state in which your body is fast asleep(seems paralysed!) and the mind is awake and aware. it happens in lucid dreams, trances, out of body experiences and the like. I myself had one at the time my mother passed away. when you woke your body up things were normal again. do you know someone that you care about that would want you to know that everything was fine? if so that would explain this experience you had. hope this helps

It could of been a dream or a real experience. Either way, do you know of anyone who would want to pay you a visit?

I wonder sometimes if people come to you in dreams so it's possible it was a visit through a dream. If it happens again don't fight it...just be hugged.
