Well if this is your first look into politics let me give you the down -low of what's going on. I am first of all not a Californian but I will say this. I learned a lot when I started following polotics when I was a kid. Just because you heard or seen something on T.V don't believe it. The media loves to make mountains out of molehills. You were not there when the original bill was called to motion about the school so, unless you wrote it you will never know why it failed or why it was vetoed. Because when it goes through you House of Representitives (so called) they add things put ammendments to it. So you write a bill, you pass it on, someone that you pass it to or the person after that adds or subtracts on to that or puts in a, lets see mmm... an energy spending spree to that to help his special intrest out. So by the time it gets to him you have a bill thats been basically not the origiinal bill that you wrote thayts been added to and subtracted from your original bill. He may have agreed with the education part of it but totally hated another or the whole thing after. So does good of the few pluses out weigh they bad things that were added. I, for one really don't pay him attention, being the conservitive I am but I would say that sometime when it comes to budgeting a state-wide or nation is very hard work. I am not saying that he does or does not care about schools, because I honestly don't know. I would say if your state is in debt from the budget that was instilled from before then usally everyones department probably felt a sting of budget cutting not just education. As for immagration, he really has no option because he has a boss too, believe it or not, all he can do is state his opinion about the State of California, other than that, that is a Federal worry more or less. When he came to the Govenors chair I personally didn't think he had any idea what he was in store for him. Maybe he will do better this time around and if he wins I hope he does for your sake.

Actually, Arnold highlights one universal truth: However easy it may be to get elected, it's not always easy to know what to do once you get into office and learn the way the game has to be played. Maybe he found out there was no money to implement his grand designs. Maybe he should have done more homework before shooting his big mouth off, making promises.
I will give him the benefit of doubt. He may have been naive. Clearly, he was not elected for his political acumen. It is not his fault people voted for him for all the wrong reasons. He got a job handed to him that he couldn't handle because he was a celebrity. Hey, it happened to Reagan, too. The blame goes on the people who voted him in, as much as the man himself.

I think he is still just a movie star. He flobs around and changes his tune whenever someone gives him more money. He has never had to be the common working person and deal with the every day thing like rising fuel prices or education. He doesn't have enough experience and history in the United States to understand the implications of stuff he makes decisions on. Vote him out. We need real leaders not movie stars.

I don't think he is lying. I think that he realizes that if you are illegal you have to take the steps to become legal. He is more an actor than a politician. What do you expect? I only know of a few actors who have done well in politics.
