I know what you mean, it's supposed to be a "self-piercing" earring...mine had a spring on it and trust me IT DIDNT WORK!
Just have someone do it with a sewing needle and a potato.
Numb up the ear with an ice cub, wipe it with some rubbing alcohol, sterilize the needle and then HOLD ON, have your brave friend POKE IT THRU! and then put in an earring!

Do not attempt to pierce your own ears go to a store like Claire's or a reputable jewlery store to have a trained and qualfied staff person to do it. Doing it yourself will result in a serious injury or infection to your ear if it's done incorrectly.

Better you should go to Claire's at the mall and have it done there. Sleepers are really gross and do not always work and you get an infection.

just go to a shop and get it done with a needle. piercing guns are for wimps, self piercing earrings are a dumb idea. come down to my shop, ill do it free.
