You don't give any details about what form the debt is in, so I can only speak in general terms.

First - you have to realize that you can't keep borrowing money frivolously. You have to do without. Carry your lunch to work. Don't go to movies. Make dinner from scratch instead of ordering carryout or take-away. Don't buy a new TV or CD or clothes just because you really want it right now.

Next - make a list of all the debts, showing who you owe, how much you owe, the minimum payment, the interest rate, and if they are overdue. List the overdue loans first, in order of balance due, least to most. List the other loans next, in the same order.

Make the minimum payment on each loan, except for the one with the smallest overdue balance. Put every single cent/pence/euro you can towards it, until it's paid off. Then next month, apply all your free money towards the next loan on the list, until it's paid off. Do this for every loan until they are paid off. If these are credit cards, as each one is paid off, write the company and request they be cancelled. Don't call - don't e-mail - WRITE them with pen and paper. It's a legal requirement, and it gives you a paper trail to show you requested it.

In the meantime, if any of these are credit card loans, you may be able to call or write them and ask to have the interest rate reduced. If they feel you are making a sincere effort to pay them off, they will be more inclined to work with you.

But if you blow them off, or screw up and say, "Ah, so what - I'll pay them next month", you've ruined your credibility, and probably hurt your credit rating. Discipline is what you need.
