I have a 2004 chevy malibu classic my fuel pump went out and the shops want to charge me 450.00 to replace it . Please tell me how i can replace it myself.

you can purchase a manual at a parts store or go to alldata.com and download one. You can also buy parts on ebay, I've had a lot of success fo far. Just make sure to disconnect you battery before you start.

unless you're mechanically inclined just pay the money man.

you have to drop the gas tank, which is a headache by itself, disconnect the three lines at the top of the pump assembly, remove the lock ring from top of tank, then remove pump assm.

installation is reverse of diss.

go to your local library and check out a CHILTON book on your car& look it up- this is your best bet
