if the site is on a server that he owns then yes he can know the ip, but if the site is on any hosting server like Geocities, or even Myspace then no he can't know ur ip
and about the email, any 1 can know the ip of the email sender, just look in the email header
note: u must enable the view of the email header in ur email account options page

Your web files ---> Web Server --> public Web view

Your email --> Yahoo Email Server --> Recipient's inbox

Whenever you are sending an email to someone via your email server, such as yahoo or google, it gets filtered and goes through their webserver before it reaches the recipient's inbox. There is no way they can tell what your IP address is.

Same goes for websites. The only time your IP address is captured is if the web server gives out that information. If you have a website on myspace.com, then myspace knows your IP address. If you go to someone's website, then the owner of the web host will find out your IP address. If someone visits YOUR website, they cannot find out your IP address.

You are safe.

Yes, the web sever would know your IP. A person would not be able to know your IP, but Yahoo would. Everything is traceable, even with proxies, if the person wants to know bad enough. It depends on how savvy the person getting the email is. From what I have heard, Yahoo is easy to hack accounts out of. I don't know this for a fact, it's just something I have heard. So I guess in answer to your question, #1 is Yes, #2 Depends on their computer knowledge base.

yeah its is possible to record your IP address but depends on wat you are using. if you are using a permenant IP add or not. if you are using a dailup connection of any ISP then its a bit hard to track your IP add but not impossible but if you are using a cable-net or DSL then its not a problem to track you down thats what we call reverse-engineering.
But if you are sending email to other yahoo users through yahoo email server than they simply cant track you down.

I don't know if the average user could tell , but I learned from the whole Foley / Senate Page controversy that it is possible.
