Are u ready? Lost is very complex but in some ways very sipmle. My theory is it's a science experiment. There is a magnetic force under ground that pulls things down towards the island (i.e test subjects in a plane). Once on the island the people running the experiment a.k.a "the others" infiltrate their camp posing as surviors of the crash. That was the simple part, here is were it gets complicated. "The others" were first part of the experiment as test subjects, now that they have past the test they become the testies(hahah). The French women however is something a little different and haven't really put my finger on it. They all have some connection to the island whether it's Hurley with the numbers, or Kate with the horse, or even Mr Echo and his brother's doomed plane. I have some speculation that the island is just a snow globe with people looking down on them, but that's just me.I mean think about it they the others drop food from planes for the surviors to eat, there is reasonable shelter built for them, a.k.a the "hatch". I do believe Locke that it's destiney for them to be there. The first episode of the 3rd season the lady that is questioning Jack has his fathers otopsy report, now how in the hell did she get that. To be honest with you I think she is Jack's 1/2 sister, but again that's just me. Remeber the 2nd season when Annna Luica pulled up to a house dropping off Jacks father, yeah you remeber. Who was that lady that answered the door? The show is on tonite and more questions are going to be raised than answered just watch and learn, just how confussing this show can be, but that's what makes it great. And tell your husband that I'm pretty sure he can think of a better sceniro than a game show. Happy Watching!!!!!!

i think that the island is really completly inhabited with people and that its just somewhere in the U.S.A. (espically since the shark that attacked the people on the raft was a great white which is usually only found in cold waters, and the scene from episode 301 where they showed the others living in houses having a book club)

i think the reason that non of the islanders are able to see the other people that really live on the island is that the other have special powers that can do all sorts of things.

so basically y main thery is kinda like the movie the village.( civilization is all around them but for somereason the islanders havent been able to get to it.

As soon as I form a theory, the writers blow it out of the water! LOL Rather than a reality show, I'm leaning towards alternative reality. Maybe more like a Sims game.

if it is a reality game show, i will shoot myself. it is the only program on which ISNT reality tv, but if your husbands theory is correct then well reality tv has taken over the world. I think that it was a experiment for a eutopia, but went wrong and they just happened to crash there. Cool huh.

woah i never thought of it being a reality show! but that doesnt explain the season premiere when the others had a suburbs type community on the island. my theory was that its like an in between place between heaven and hell. but im not sure about that anymore either.

ive also noticed that a lot of the survivors from the crash have killed someone. like kate -killed her step dad. anna lucia[even tho shes dead]- killed a random man. jack- did he kill his dead? not sure. but he was also a doctor, etc.

i cant wait to find out at the finale of the entire series

I agree that it is a human testing facility of some type, most likely tied to the government. I also think that the people there aren't there by accident -- like perhaps they've been sent there on purpose. For example, I think Kate's stepdad (in the military) somehow arranged for her to get there to save her from prison.

Is it only me, or did the 1st episode fall thoroughly flat? we've waited months for this season to start up and ... i don't understand, it only felt like the writers burned all their inventive juices final season. somewhat some this episode felt recycled (exhibiting influence on each and every member of the flight, precise landing in L.A., exhibiting previous often happening characters). This only approximately felt like the grand finale, not some thing they are able to construct from. i desire your concept is stable and that they are able to seize a number of final season's drama and excitement. it is confusing to think of Benjamin Linus sacrificing himself for every person (on account that he did not, to shop his daughter) in spite of the fact that it would be an incredible plot twist.

i love the show but i have come to the conclusion that i will not make theories. as soon as i do, i get proved wrong. i am going to go back on my word just for you this is the final theory, you ready? here it goes. the island is a zoo (cages, aquariums, etc) for intergalactic travelers. there you go! shoot i really dont know all i know is i would mind being in a cage with sawyer.

i think all the theories have good points but I'm starting to think its all a double bluff! just imagine how shocked we'll all be when they just get rescued and there's no big twist to it! there just trying to mess with our heads! i hope the last series is of them going back into the real world!
