Business Conservative is the best way to go. Wearing dress slacks or knee length skirt (both with panty hose), closed toed dress shoes, and a nice conservative blouse. A business jacket is optional. Keep any jewelry minimal (your wedding ring, a watch, stud or very small hoop earrings, and a small dainty necklace or pearls if you have them. Whatever you wear should be solid colors and preferably neutral colors (black, white, tan, brown, beige, navy blue). and keep your makeup very natural looking (not using too much blush or eyeshadow), but the lipstick color can be bold if you like. All of this keeps your image conservative & "neutral". This way there is no assumption of you as being "wild" or "sexual" or even "the wife who obviously shops too much". Remember, you're there to accompany him and you should only be there as a support. Allow him to do the majority of the talking, unless you're asked a direct question or he asks for your input. I know this sounds really old school, but it's business for him and you want his colleagues focus to stay on him. Not to be rude, but inviting you was a pleasantry as far as the business world goes. They want to get an idea of his personal life & see how he interacts when he is in a "more comfortable/casual" environment (meaning you being there by his side). Try to keep any of your conversation from being too detailed in what your personal life is like. (example: What do you do? Simple Answer: I'm a Homemaker or a "whatever it is that you do". And leave it at that.) In diplomacy & politics, keep everything as simple as possible, it's always business in those professions.
Good Luck!

I always recommend a classic cut womans suit with a femine scarf under the lapel with a broach, simple jewerly (pearls and wedding band). Its Lunch. Conservative hair do- swept up and back like a french twist secured with bobby pins, (not scrunchy or clips) is very classy, down is more for evening. Keep the makeup simple, a light brown/mauve eye shadow and peach/pink lips with gloss.

Good luck!

Do not wear red, black or bright colors.

He could have a minimum of spoke of as and asked you in case you minded that he introduced alongside a "pal" from the place of work, that could have been somewhat extra considerate then in basic terms bringing somebody, tremendously if he made a lunch date with you. that could have been extra considerate and much less impolite.
