Indifference.

That may sound strange. But when I see someone that is "indifferent," it shows just how much they lack a conscience towards the feelings and reactions of others. They are capable of so many forms of pain, yet could care less about the effects it leaves on children, the innocent, the noble. They take no action to help. They refuse to acknowledge others needs. They disregard feelings. They have no heart.

I forgive most anything.......and in my rose colored glasses kind of way I do believe that even the worst crimes are forgivable as people grow and change and resolve issues that caused them to commit crimes of passion. But the 'indifferent' soul is one that can not grow......that can not change......that can not reason. And it pains me to have to remove myself from their midst.

You must learn to forgive all acts. It is not up to you to hold a grudge. The first step to getting over a hurtful act done against you, is to forgive. Notice, I didn't say forget, because you should never forget the events that made you stronger. But, everyone must learn to forgive.

A year ago I would have had a different answer. I have forgiven all of the people who have wronged me in the past, but I won't forget, so they can't hurt me again. The worst was my ex who abused me physically & emotionally for years. I was in therapy for over a year to get over it. Forgiveness is good for you! If you harbour resentments, they will hurt you more than the other person. They will get joy in the fact that they "got" to you.

I would not be able to forgive someone who murdered someone I loved. It would be very hard to do. The people in the Amish mass murder in the schoolroom? All those little girls? How hard that must be to not only forgive that man, but to offer comfort and assistance to his survivors.

I don't think I can post it here the way I want to, but it involves my first (now ex) wife and an ethnic person, in my bedroom, and some white powder that was not baby powder.
