they keep going on about 9/11 as if it was the only terrorist attack that ever happened and if it happened yesterday... i don't get it more people wer killed in the Pakistani earthquakes and what's been done for them? Zilch. The Americans, obviously can't take their own medicine. I hate to generalise a whole nationality but after speaking with a group of Americans a few days ago... I was left infuriated they would not shut up about 9/11 and yet they had never heard of the Pakistani earthquake and forgotten the tsunami and had no idea of the horrific consequences of Chernobyl...

What I mean is America has been dishing out worse than 9/11 and suddenly it bites them back and it's as if it was uncalled for. Yes it was horrific BUT things like that don't just spontaneously occur. Who defines terrorism? George Bush could be a terrorist he is responsible for the deaths of thousands as are 'terrorists'.

I hate to say it but it's the American propoganda. President Bush wants us all to buy into this war on Iraq so he uses 9/11 as an exdcuse. Sadly many Americans are buying it. Trust me; it's irritating to some of us to.

Try telling that to the people who lost someone during the attacks. It was a tragedy that affected many people and it still affects many today. To minimize that kind of pain is a terrible thing to do. Besides many people know that there are terrible tragedies all around the world and it's important to have compassion for those who have lost someone and to respect their feelings. I bet if you asked the people who survived the consequences of the Pakistani earthquake, Chernobyl, the tsunami, 9/11, or Hurricane Katrina, they would tell you that the pain is still there. Show some compassion.

Aren't all people guilty of throwing stones when they live in glass houses? For the most part I'd say yes. Killing and fighting is never going to end. People dont want to take responsiblity for what is their fault. If the world could stop worrying about what other people have done to them and stop trying to get revenge all over the place maybe people would stop dying left and right. We are so concerned with the here and now and what is happening to us that we forget to think about what other countries have endured because of our selfishness. I mean america in general when I say we. And it's not just us it's other countries as well. We are all guilty of it. This world is driven by power and by people who all want to have the final say so in everything. So yes you are right in a lot of ways. I kinda consider things like natural disasters worse than things we brought on ourselves. Does it suck that innocent people had to die for the sake of the power driven people in this world who caused the problem in the first place? Yes it does. but it will continue to happen until people stop wollowing in their self pitty and start taking responsiblity for their own actions. Had there been a public apology to other countries after 9/11 stating we're sorry for what we have done to offend them. We can't say that the attacks might not have continued and if they then action would have been necessary. But what if they hadn't continued? how many lives would have been saved. how many soldiers would have been allowed to stay with their families. Would all these suicide bombings have happened? Obviously it's pointless to wonder what if. But I do think that Americans are going to be their downfall and the same for all countries until someone can find it in themselves to quit trying to always place blame and always point fingures in the other direction and never take responsiblity for what part they played in a tragity.

As with anything if something bad happens in your own back yard its big news... This american remembers all those other non-man-made Or in other words Act of God disasters and yes for the most part americans do have a short memory... However don't throw all of us in the same barrel. That would be the same to say that all Islamic Religious people are Terrorist or all Catholics are Fish eaters.

because 9/11 was a man made atrocity, it showed the violence and pure raw hatred towards a nation, these other two incidences were nature made. and could not be prevented.

The Us sent more money to the tsunami victims than any other country. how many countries offered aid during Katrina?

what were we "dishing out" that was worse than 9/11?

You are right.

Since the end of the cold war, sitting US presidents have had the ability to call up a natural disaster with an array of buttons behind a secret panel in the oval office.

oh please forgive us for caring about OUR OWN country, you OBVIOUSLY don't know the difference between a natural disaster and a terrorist attacked, we were attacked! they wanted to kill us because they don't like our way of life, it is something that we can prevent and keep preventing from happening again, you CAN"T do that with an earthquake or tsunami, THATS why its such a big deal to us
