There's pretty much only one argument used on the "being gay is a sin" side...and that is "The Bible says being gay is a sin."
Not really much of an argument, is it?
Maybe you want to define sin on an ethical and not religious basis. Some perspectives from the three main schools of ethical thought.
From a utilitarian perspective, being gay hurts no one, so it's not wrong there.
In Kantian ethics, a practice is wrong if universal adoption of that practice would lead to dire consequences. This is more interesting...if everyone in the world were gay, who would breed and have children?
And in virtue ethics, practices are judged on how they express certain virtues. In many versions of this, the virtues are considered as the middle ground on ethical continuum...say, Courage is the virtue between Timidity and Aggressiveness on the Assertiveness continuum. So, if you view sexual orientation as a continuum...being gay is wrong, but so is being straight! They are both limited extremes.
The only way to get by in all three ethical systems is to be bisexual, which hurts no one, lets the human race keep breeding and doesn't hit ethical extremes.

So there you go, being gay is a sin. You're better off playing both sides of the field.

Being gay is considered a sin in the Christin bible. Of course being in the same room with a menstruating woman or cutting your hair is also considered a sin. I would not worry to much about what superstitious people think about. Being Gay is just the way some people are nothing more or less. Being gay unlike the belief in an invisible ruler of the universe does not indicate a low intelligence.

Remove the word "sin" and insert "shame"... essentially, that's what sin is. So should one feel shamed for expressing physically and emotionally sentiment/ attraction towards another, (assuming emotional and mental capacity and consent are already addressed)even if they are of the same gender? The answer is... are you ready for this... it's a personal perspective, based on individual belief systems while simultaneously influenced by culture, religion, etc.
Remember there are no real whys in philosophy. Using the same rules I can argue that there is a god, there is no god, and that god is a banana. Good "q" tho!

YES.This is one of those questions that will be answered in many varied ways, each with their own reasons.I speak from experience (homosexuality),and am a Christian believer.According to the scripture that I have read KNOW that It IS wrong, but believe that with prayer and faith In Christ anything can be overcome,It's VERY Hard, but each person must reach that truth for themselves.GOD Loves the sinner, but hates the sins we do.Suicide Is NEVER an option.God's grace and mercy will see me and anyone else who Is willing to give this burden 2 Him to overcome Homosexuality.

In my personal opinion it is a sin. Because it goes against the natural way of life, to male can't reproduce a child for them self, which reproducing is one of the primary purpose of marriage besides true love. For those how say that they were born with it, I say that is bullshit, God gave us the capability to choose freely. So I am saying that to be gay or not it is in the hands of everyone to choose freely. And where we will be judge it may be on our free choices how God thinks we mange them.

Is being born with certain color eyes and hair a sin? Is having specific talents a sin? Is female attraction to a male a sin? And a male's attraction to a female a sin? Is liking chocolate instead of cocoanut a sin?

I believe nothing we're born with is sinful.

being gay is a sin i'll tell you why because god created a man and a woman. not a man and another man or a woman and another woman. god made adam and eve not adam and steve, or ana and eve.

genesis:
2:18 And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
2:23 And Adam said, This [is] now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

god does not allow this because he created the perfect marrige between a man and woman. but people want to change that and he does not except this action. someone is not born gay they slowly choose to be they make up their own character. through time people change their character they are not just born with one.

My pastor Tim Halverson addressed this key issue last week and basically he said the catholic church is against all that is not familiar, a man ans a woman. I myself have no opinion, but he said that we can not as good Christians turn our backs on anyone. Jesus is a good example of how man should treat all people and that includes gay and lesbian people.

Is _being_ gay a sin? No, however..there's always a however..., being a -practicing- gay person is.
No matter what you hear or what is said, being gay is a _choice_ NOT some genetic predisposition.

In my opinion, no. The real sin is people who want to pass judgement on gay people.
