Absolutely, and they should stop trusting you if you've plagerized. Plagerism is cheating, and you cannot trust a cheater.

You need to earn someone's trust, so you'll need to go an extra mile to get that teacher to trust you again.

I caught kids all the time plagerizing, and I didn't stop trusting them. It's a pretty normal thing, actually. I would have to call the kid in, call the parents and give a zero, but after that I was pretty sure it wouldn't happen again.

Should anyone be trusting you if you got caught plagerising something? The answer is why bother doing it. Its not only your teacher who is going to lose trust in you. Just cite where you get the information. You can paraphrase it enough (I hope) to make it mostly your own work and get the credit you need while at the same time you are citing the ideas from another author.

I personally would as a high school teacher. I teach elementary though, so my kids usually don't realize when they've plagiarized. My husband teaches high school, and I don't think it's so much a trust issue for him. He doesn't care to trust you one way or the other. He just thinks you're stupid for thinking you could get away with it. It's frustrating to spend all your time and effort all year teaching students how to write papers the correct way and then have them blow it at the end.

Pretty much!
Everyone has plagiarized at some time rather intentionally or unintentionally. If you intentionally plagiarize, and believe me we know, then the teacher will not trust you. They will check each piece that you hand in for plagiarism along with watching your homework, quizzes, and tests.

Yeah, they'll look at all the stuff you hand in much closer if you get caught. And they'll watch you during tests and be less likely to give you a break on anything.

yeah probably.. there was a girl that did that in my biology class once and the teacher didn't really ever trust her that much anymore.
