My family and my boyfriend are the most important things in my life. I feel heartbroken when they don't think of him and treat him as I feel they should. How do I mend this situation?

I think that you and your boyfriend should become indipendent. That is, have your boyfriend find another job and stop working with your dad. If he is hard working, you two will be able to prove your parents wrong and make it on your own. Your parents will respect both of you for that.
