There are surgical and mechanical solutions.
I myself have sleep apnea. I now use a CPAP machine that is a mask that allows air to be blown into my airway to inflate the passage to stop snoring and interuption of breathing.
When I had to sleep study my blood O2 level was dropping into the mid 70's, very dangerous. With the machine my O2 stays in the mid to high 90's. I also now only sleep 6-7 hours where I was craving 9-10 hours a day.
So help someone you love.

I *am* married to someone who snores quite a bit, and I have insomnia to boot. He's gone to doctors, and they haven't found anything wrong with him (no apnea), they just blame it on the extra weight he carries... Well, maybe someday he'll get around to losing it, and it will help with the snoring. Thankfully, we have a 4-bedroom house, so we just sleep in separate rooms; it solves the problem in the meantime. It's not really that big of a deal.

I fell in love with someone who snores awful. But I loved him so much, that I thought the snoring was cute. When it woke me up, all I had to do was look at him asleep and I just wanted to kiss his lips and forehead and eyes. It was the sweetest thing. My sleep was so good in his arms, that the snoring meant nothing.

My mom did. They slept in the same room in the beginning since my step-dad had a mouth guard that he wore at night to help with the snoring. My mom also wore ear plugs. The mouth piece broke though, and now they simply sleep in separate rooms.

When my boyfriend snores a lot, I simply go and sleep in another room.

My husband snores. I wear ear plugs and swallow sleeping pills. But sometimes I go into another room, because he breaks the sound barrier. I've been married for nearly sixteen years.

My wife did. I sometimes snore like Fred Flintstone. I have not snored in a week and a half. It comes and goes. I do not know why.
