I think it becomes cheating when you would rather be with the recipient rather than the one you're with now. If you are spending more time online than face to face with a significant other, I'd call that a form of cheating. You're definitely cheating your relationship out of time.

When u are engaged with someone,but u are using the e-mail in chatting with another male in stuff that u should only be talking with ur husband or boyfriend or whatever.
I've seen some women engaged in a relationship using e-mail chatting with someone else they don't know using sexually oriented words.....saying that they are just having fun...i say,this is wrong and is definitely cheating!

stop trying to label an action.

thinking about someone else other than your partner during sex could be called "cheating" by some.

and others would go so far as to say that oral sex isn't cheating, because there's no penetration.

don't worry about a label, and think more about the content and context of the emails

depends upon whats in that email......I'd be upset if I found emails from my wife to another man with obvious flirting, sexual innuendo, and stuff like that.

when the topics of e-mail become more personal, and that your e-mail the person more stuff/ info then you would your sinifican other
